Unilever Cambodia named among ‘Best Companies to Work for in Asia 2021’ by HR Asia

Unilever Cambodia Limited, one of world’s leading suppliers of beauty and personal care, home care, foods and refreshment products, has been named as one of the ‘Best Companies to Work for in Asia 2021’ by HR Asia. This is the fifth time Unilever Cambodia Limited has won such similar prestigious recognition, confirming the company is a preferred employer of choice in Cambodia.

Receiving the award, Sothou Ly, Unilever Country Director of Cambodia and Laos said, “We are very honoured to receive this special award which is a recognition of one of the best companies in Asia. Winning such a prestigious award during a challenging period of the global pandemic reaffirms our commitment to providing a purposeful career and aspiring workplace for our employees in Cambodia.”

The HR Asia Best Companies to Work for in Asia Awards is an awards recognition programme for organisations that have been identified by their employees as one of Asia’s employers of choice and ascertains the best employers to work for. It targets companies with the best HR practices, and demonstrates high levels of employee engagement and excellent workplace cultures across Asia.

“We are already on a journey of creating an inclusive working culture and a positive working environment where everyone feels valued and safe. We are committed to providing a healthy, inclusive and diverse culture where everyone can bring their whole selves to work, and we will keep working hard to support our people to become the best version of themselves,” said Sothou.

He went on to add: “Unilever Cambodia will continue to invest in its people, build Cambodian talent to become today and future leaders for the country as a whole and ensure a positive working environment for everyone, is part of our everyday work.”

In Cambodia, Unilever distributes essential consumer goods, including personal care and hygiene products, among others, shampoo, body wash, face wash, toothpaste, disinfectant spray, dishwash, floor cleaner, laundry detergent and food products.

Apart from providing the best working environment for its employees, Unilever has been at the forefront of supporting the government and other civil society organisations since Covid-19 infection was detected in Cambodia.

To date, Unilever has contributed essential food, hygiene products and ventilators worth more than 615 million Riel or $150,000 to various organisations in Cambodia in their fights against the pandemic. On the January10, Unilever Cambodia also donated 10,000 packs of Viso Pises to public schools under the Ministry of Education Youth and Sport to welcome the new academic year.

Unilever products are sold in over 190 countries and used by 2.5 billion people every day. The company has 149,000 employees and has generated sales of €50.7 billion in 2020. Over half of our footprint is in developing and emerging markets.
