Angkor Archaeological Park in Siem Reap province earned $18.092.550 from the entrance ticket sales in the first semester of this year.

The update was shared by the Angkor Enterprise, the state-owned institution in charge of Angkor income management, in a press release made public on July 1.

The income shows a sharp decrease of 67.54 percent compared to the same period last year, it underlined.

The tickets were sold to 387.840 foreign tourists, down 68,83 percent, said the press release, adding that of the income, more than $775.680 were donated to Cambodia Kantha Bopha Foundation to support the humanitarian activities of Kantha Bopha Children’s Hospitals.

In June alone, the tickets were sold to 1.747 foreign tourists, down over 98 percent, generating $71,219 as income.

Moreover, during the first semester, a total of 8.544 foreign tourists visited Koh Ker Temple, some $85.440 was thus generated from ticket sales.
