Maybank expanded its Premier Banking services in Cambodia with the opening of its third Premier Wealth lounge at the newly located Maybank Toul Kork branch in Phnom Penh.

The lounge is located at the new branch building at No. 61A, Street 315, corner of Street 592, Village 6, Sangkat Boeng Kak II, Khan Toul Kork, Phnom Penh. It aims to better serve the growing customer base of Maybank in the country, as well as affirming Maybank’s long term growth commitment in Cambodia.

Dato Mohd Hanif Suadi, CEO of Maybank Cambodia said that the timely relocation of the Maybank Toul Kork to a new address is significant because the bank continues to grow its premier banking segment as well as providing enriched banking experience for the customers.

“While the world is operating in an environment challenged by the COVID-19 pandemic, we remain committed to continuously playing a role in contributing to Cambodia’s economy. The premier banking segment is a key business portfolio for the bank because we have seen the segment growing exponentially, registering healthy growth in Asset Under Management (AUM), contributing 41 percent of the total bank AUM on the back of a 16 percent growth in customer base last year and is also targeting to double the growth this year. Therefore, the new Premier Wealth lounge will not only be able to serve a new customer base but also gives the bank added agility to promote innovative products and services.”

The relocation and expansion of the Toul Kork branch affirms Maybank’s assurance that there is no disruption to any of its services arising from the outbreak of COVID-19. The bank has in place a sound business continuity plan to ensure the smooth functioning of its operations in the event of such incidents. In this regard, various precautionary measures will continue to be emplaced at the new Toul Kork branch, thebank said.

“Since the outbreak of COVID-19, the bank has taken the prescribed precautionary and hygiene measures across its operations to mitigate any health risks arising from the spread of the virus. Aside from routinely sanitising

our offices, all customer-facing employees have been provided personal protection equipment. Hand sanitisers are provided for staff use and daily temperature checks are also being carried out in efforts to ensure the wellbeing of our staff and customers. We will continue to undertake the necessary measures as long as they are required becuse the safety of our customers and staff are paramount to us,” said Dato Mohd Hanif Suadi.

Dato Hanif added, “As an organisation with a mission of humanising financial services, we have always ensured that our role goes beyond just driving economic growth for the country and region, but also in ensuring the well-being of our communities at all times, more so during critical moments such as the current COVID-19 situation which has stretched the resources of the country.”

Concurrently, Maybank is also focusing its effort on helping the people to survive the crisis and then eventually help reverse this pandemic-induced economic slowdown, given that the cause of this slowdown is peculiar and its impact significant. In this regard, since the outbreak of COVID-19, Maybank says it has commenced the offering of financial advisory services for its customers affected by the pandemic, in addition to its financial relief scheme in the form of restructuring and rescheduling (R&R) of financing facilities, as well as moratoriums on loan repayments. Maybank also partners with the SME Bank through the SME Co-Financing Scheme to facilitate the provision of financing to SMEs in an effective and sustainable manner to support local small and medium enterprises, in order to increase economic diversification and boost small and medium enterprises in Cambodia during this challenging time.

“We are also strongly urging our customers to avail to our various online banking facilities, in light of the current situation with increased emphasis on keeping yourself and your community safe by avoiding crowded places and keeping your social distance,” added Dato Hanif.

Maybank currently offers both the Maybank2u online banking and mobile app, to facilitate various banking transactions for individuals. The Maybank2u mobile app has also recently undergone a user interface and user experience uplift, which promises a whole new experience that provides simplicity, speed

and ease of use. For businesses, Maybank offers the Maybank2e online platform, which provides a broad spectrum of a web-enabled cash-management solutions, i.e. information management, payables management and receivables management.
