The Angkor Enterprise announced that a total of 33,205 foreign tourists visited Angkor Archaeological Park in the first four months of this year, helping it to earn more than $1.3 million.

In April alone, Angkor Enterprise earned $537,040 from the sale of 13,365 tickets to foreign tourists visiting Angkor Archaeological Park, it said in a press release.

Ly Se, Angkor Enterprise executive director, told Khmer Times, “There is a significant increase in the number of tourists due to the reopening of the country following an improvement in the Covid-19 situation. We expect that the number of tourists will increase in the months of May, June and July.”

“We are committed to the safety of tourists. Tourists can buy tickets online as well. Both Angkor Enterprise and the Apsara Authority also repaired and improved the buildings and infrastructure in the Angkor Archaeological area. As an encouragement for tourists, the visitors can visit Angkor for two days when they purchase tickets for one day. When foreign tourists buy tickets for two days, they can visit for five days. Similarly, when they buy a ticket for one week, they can use it for ten days,” he pointed out.

During the first four months of 2022, the government donated a total of $66,410 to Kantha Bopha Hospital from the sale of tickets to foreign tourists visiting Angkor, the release added.
