Prime Minister Hun Sen has announced a $150 million budget to build 38 roads in Siem Reap province that will improve people’s livelihoods and boost national economic growth after the COVID-19 ends.

“Although our country is currently facing the COVID-19, it has not affected the development of the nation,” he said

The infrastructure planned for provincial town is expected to be completed by the end of 2021

The prime minister said that with the contribution of all ministries and institutions for reducing expenses, the government has saved more than $600 million to develop the country.

Siem Reap is the most effected tourism hub by the COVID-19 and hundreds of hotels and guesthouses in the province is reported permanently ceased and suspended amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
