Kemin Industries, a global ingredient manufacturer, has entered into a partnership with Diethelm Keller Siber Hegner (DKSH) to be the distributor for Kemin Food Technologies in Cambodia, Vietnam and Myanmar.

Using DKSH’s distribution services will strengthen Kemin Food Technologies’ market synergies and provide a foundation to further expand its presence within Vietnam, Myanmar and Cambodia. By joining with DKSH, Kemin Food Technologies it will optimise its distribution network and improve its service in these emerging countries.

“Food is a necessity, so not only does Kemin address today’s needs, but we anticipate tomorrow’s food issues to help food manufacturers maintain the quality of their products, keeping food safer and fresher for longer,” said Michelle Lim, President, Kemin Food Technologies – Asia.

“Our extensive knowledge of oxidation processes and understanding of food products on a molecular level feeds our pursuit of quality solutions, which allows us to help reduce food waste and contribute to food security,” she added. “This is our commitment to sustainability as the way to improve life today and for generations to come.” said Michelle.

DKSH has a state-of-the-art food innovation centre based in Thailand and a food application laboratory based in Vietnam to serve food and beverage customers within neighbouring countries and offer prospective customers its lab services and evaluation, said Joanne Tan, regional marketing manager of food technologies Asia.

She said via an email that Kemin customers will be able to benefit from these services to help them solve their shelf-life and food safety issues. “Adding DKSH to its distribution network demonstrates Kemin’s commitment to the food industry by bringing its global expertise to the local market and offering technical support to customers,” she added.

Joanne said Cambodia is one of the fastest growing markets within Asia-Pacific. Its strong economic growth and rapid urbanisation has contributed to the development of the food and beverage (F&B) industry especially in its main cities such as Siem Reap and Phnom Penh.

As a shelf life and food safety expert, Kemin’s main product offering would be its antioxidant portfolio namely the FortiumTM & Enhance TM range of products that are added into food formulations to delay oxidation and maintain the taste profile of fats-and oil-containing products such as snacks, instant noodles and beverages as well as maintaining the visual appeal and colour of sauces, beverages and meat products.

In addition, DKSH will also be offering its food safety portfolio – mould inhibitor, namely the SHIELDTM range of products that is used to protect bakery products against mould growth to give them a longer shelf life and the natural antimicrobial BactoceaseTM NV range of products that are made of buffered vinegar to extend the shelf life of food safety of perishable food products such as meat, poultry and seafood.
