The Ministry of Post and Telecommunications (MPTC) has revoked three licences of Chuan Wei (Cambodia). The three licences are voice over internet protocol (VoIP), 4G mobile service and submarine fiber optic cable licence.

“MPTC will maintain the internet service provider (ISP) licence for Chuan Wei (Cambodia) to continue if the company settles outstanding debts to the government,” according to the statement.

In October, MPTC has revoked and suspended licenses of 17 telecoms operators. The move came after some telecoms operators failed to pay their revenue share to the government. Some were inactive and some reported false revenue figures.

The statement read that MPTC will take action through license revocation of any telecoms operators who fail to comply with the laws or abide by the license terms, including failures to commercially operators, properly self-declare revenue provide sufficient financial and technical documentations, settle debt obligation or pay revenue share to the government.

“The announcement shall serve as notice for all telecoms operators to comply with the laws, regulations and license terms and as information for the general public,” it said.
